The Louis Bay 2nd Library is the "heart of the community" - the social, cultural and intellectual hub of Hawthorne. For Jigsaw Junkies, Puzzle Prodigies and Smart Solvers, the Library is happy to host the Puzzle Table! Residents can spend many happy hours working together to complete a complex puzzle. Or, if you only have a minute, try to find a quick piece to make your contribution to the final puzzle. Stop by soon to hone your puzzling skills and keep your mind sharp.



Easy Yoga at the Library 

Fridays @ 10:30 am

The Library hosts Easy Yoga on Monday mornings, an exercise program that incorporates easy stretching and movement from 10:30-11:30 am. The program is for all ages and is designed to energize and invigorate participants.



Mah Jongg

Mondays @ 6 pmBeigejong

If you are looking for a fun brain challenge, the Chinese game of Mah Jongg incorporates skill, strategy, calculation and chance. The American version Mah Jongg is played at the Library every Monday night at 6 pm in a joyful and enlightening atmosphere. All are welcome. For more information, call 973-427-5745.


Knitting & Crocheting at the Library

Fridays @ 1 pm


Join fellow knitters from 1 to 3 pm at the Library on Fridays. The ladies knit and crochet for premature babies, sick hospital patients, and even the military. While not professional trainers, the ladies will gladly share their knowledge to help get new knitters started. Additionally, yarn donations are also being accepted by the group to support their efforts. BeigecardPlay Canasta at the Library!

Wednesdays @ 1 pm

The Canasta “Meet-Up” Group meets every Wednesday from 1 to 3 pm. Anyone interested in playing Canasta, a card game which belongs to the Rummy family of games, is invited to attend. Bring your friends for an enjoyable afternoon of friendly card games and good conversation. Attendees are invited, but not required, to bring their own decks of cards.
